Fastest Way To Lose Weight In A Week

Extra pounds are something that entirely too many of us carry around. Weight gain is caused by a number of different factors, some genetic, some environmental. The fact is that sometimes we feel a need to lose weight quickly. This article describes three plans that can significantly help you lose weight in a week.

Water makes up more than three quarters of our body mass. Therefore, we need a great amount of water to sustain our bodies. Our bodies have evolved to the point where we store up this water in case we need it. The majority of people carry around 5-8 excess pounds of water weight. By just drinking more water, you can lose those extra pounds within a week. If you drink around a gallon of water per day, your body will be fooled into thinking that it no longer has to retain water, and you will be able to eliminate the excess fluid.

The second plan to lose weight in a week is to change the diet to one that is completely comprised of fruits and vegetables. Leafy green salads, steamed vegetables, and fruit will give you large amounts of food with very few calories. You’ll feel full with fewer calories, and you’ll get the added benefit of increased fiber. This will serve to clean the bowel and eliminate a large volume of excess waste that most of us carry around inside us because we do not eat right.

The third plan to lose weight in a week is a combination of the first two methods. If you both drink more water and eat more vegetables, you can lose weight quickly. You can supplement that diet with a reasonable portion of fish and poultry, as well as grains, for carbs and protein that your body needs. For successful weight loss, our bodies need carbohydrates, which convert to fuel that the body burns, added to a reduced caloric intake.

This third plan may prove slightly slower than other weight loss options, but it does include a more balanced approach to changing the diet that makes it possible to continue to receive the needed nutrients to keep the body going while reducing the number of calories one consumes to a level that is lower than the number of calories burned each day.

If you follow a balanced plan, you can lose an average of 8 to 20 pounds in a single week. Assuming of course that your body has that much extra weight to lose. Since that is true for most people, that weight loss target is quite possible.

Facts About Drinking Water: Beyond H2O Tips For Your Health and Wellness

Here are some incredible quotes from reputable sources regarding drinking water facts and fiction brought to you by Beyond H2O…

“Because most food contains a large amount of water, you obtain approximately 3 1/2 cups from what is eaten over the course of a day. Interestingly, the body’s metabolism itself is another source, since — as it makes and uses energy — one of its daily byproducts is about 1/2 cup of water. So, if you add up your losses (two cups for the lungs, two for sweating, and six for the intestines and kidneys), you come up with a total loss of ten cups … not counting any excess lost through perspiration during exercise. Therefore, taking into account the approximately four cups provided by food and metabolism, the average person needs to drink six to eight cups of water daily just to keep functioning well.”

– Mother Earth News

“Drinks containing concentrated nutrients, such as milk, sugar-sweetened soft drinks, and salty tomato-based juices, count more as food than drink since they themselves increase your body’s water needs.”

– N.Y. Times Guide to Personal Health

“A reduction of 4-5% in body water will result in a decline of 20-30% in work performance.”

– N.Y. Times Guide to Personal Health

“An athlete commonly loses four or five quarts (of water) in a practice session.”

– “Realities of Nutrition”

The connection between chlorinated tap water and serious health problems such as cancer and heart disease may be clearer than advertised. Read this important article on “Chlorine and Cancer.”

How to use a buffet to lose weight!

You may be wondering as I did when I thought through this article, how do you do that?

You see only the other night eating out with some friends, one of the blokes said to me, “You better make sure you go back and get seconds, you will want to get your moneys worth!” I thought, why is it that people have the perception that if you are allowed to eat as much as you want that you will?

I originally was going to have a steak dinner for $14 and asked the waitress if I could substitute vegetables for the chips. She said that would cost an extra $7 so that was only $2 cheaper than the buffet which gave me greater choice of foods. I ended up getting the vegetables I wanted plus a spring roll. The point is, I didnt think I had to eat 2, 3 or more platefuls. I just wanted to enjoy my meal and have a nutritious option.

Here are three tips to enjoying a buffet.

  • Stick to water as the carbonated drink will fill you up quickly and you will feel to full.
  •  Make your first choice the healthiest option.. ie. salads, vegetables, roast etc
  •  Once you are finished your first plate consider whether you want dessert or not and wait 5 minutes.

If you dont want dessert you have the option to get a second plate or you may be satisfied from one plate and therefore you wont overindulge. There is nothing worse than that feeling of being overfull.

Remember just because you are paying $20+ doesnt mean you have to have multiple plates. That after all is a standard price for one plate of decent food in most restaurants,

Enjoy your food, dont deprive yourself but be accountable to your goals (fat loss, health, example to others, etc.)

my PROGRESS

Tuesday I weighed 178 pounds.

Yesterday I ordered the Diet Cure by Julia Ross, I hope it arrives soon!  I feel like this is it, I have great hopes.

Yesterday I had eggs, cheese, butter, olive oil, italian sausage, blue cheese dressing, and tomatoes.  Coffee with half and half and diet pop. Vitamins and Omega 3 etc.   This is a start a least to getting off the sugar and refined carbs.

I am at the point where I feel very fat and don’t want to be in my body, my stomach is so huge, I can’t wait till it starts to shrink.

Stop listening to diets that tell you no carbs.

Question: Many diets say no carbs, but I can’t stick to anything with no carbs. Any advice?

Answer: Yes. Stop listening to diets that tell you no carbs. They’ll end up making you eat carbs out of the garbage! I eat carbs every day. Yesterday I had cereal for breakfast, squash soup, and a bagel for lunch. That’s all carbs! Then I had steak for dinner. When I tried to stop eating carbs I gained a ton of weight by cheating on carbs after I ate all the no carb foods! When I satisfied my cravings, I lost weight. The key to weight loss is structuring the foods you crave; healthy and not so healthy at times.

Checkin' Myself into to Food Jail...

OK, so today I got on the scale…then immediately went online and rejoined Weight Watchers.

Deja vu. This is almost an exact repeat of about five years ago, when the scale indicated the same exact weight as today’s offending numbers. Panic time…

Last time, I lost over 35 pounds on Weight Watchers, but it took me about 1 year to do it because I ignored the exercise part. I lost the last ten pounds opening Malia’s Mug. And despite being around food at the restaurant all morning, day, and night, I kept the weight off the whole time the beloved Mug was alive. (Probably something to do with running around like a chicken sans head all day… and stress…)

After the death of The Mug, the stress certainly stayed, but I’ve been spending my days sitting in front of a computer nearly 15 hours a day. Not so good – the lubs have sneaked back.

Actually, with Weight Watchers, it’s not really “food jail” – just more like “food purgatory”. For those of you not familiar with the WW “Points” system, all foods “cost” a certain number of points, and you’re allowed a certain number of points per day (my allotment is a mere 21).

Doing the other plans would be “food jail”. That’s when you can eat as much food as you want, as long it’s on the approved list. That list contains things like beets and cabbage. No spank you.

So as I relearn the system, I expect my mind’s eye to start superimposing those number values on every food that crosses my path for the next several months. Here we go…! Weeee!
